Educator, sustainability consultant, artist, and founder of ArnaLab.
Madina Khamitova's work brings together education, ecology, art, and community engagement to inspire meaningful connections between people and the places they call home.
With an international career spanning Kazakhstan, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, and New York, Madina has worked across diverse sectors — from information systems consulting at Ernst & Young to founding sustainability initiatives, developing educational programs, and creating socially engaged art. This interdisciplinary background allows her to approach complex environmental and social challenges with both creativity and strategic thinking.
Madina holds a Master's degree in Information Systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a PGCEi with Honours from the University of Nottingham, where her research focused on place-based education, ecological literacy, and culturally responsive pedagogy. She is also a certified TEFL teacher and has completed studies in Sustainable Development through Columbia University.
At the heart of Madina's practice is the belief that education should nurture curiosity, empathy, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility for the living world. Through ArnaLab, she designs sustainability curricula, advises schools, facilitates teacher training, develops experiential learning programs, and leads outdoor educational camps that connect children and adults with local ecosystems, traditional ecological knowledge, and community.
Madina continues to collaborate with schools, conservation initiatives, museums, community organizations, and businesses to develop creative approaches that empower people of all ages to become active stewards of their communities and the environment. Through education, art, and collaboration, she believes that lasting change begins with a deeper understanding of place — and with the courage to imagine more sustainable ways of living together.
